NEW YEAR - New Website
Welcome to my new website. Here is what’s new:
It is all about ease of access, clean lines, and of course about my work as an artist. I love the banner video telling a story about my work as an artist.
THE NUTCRACKER - Getting into the holiday spirit
It has been so much fun to play in the ballet production of The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky
THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX - Exploring new projects
This month I get to do a few things that are somewhat ‘outside the box’ for me.
Back on Tour - INDIANA TO SWITZERLAND
What a crazy stretch this has been. Concerts have taken me from the States to Zurich, and it is wonderful to be in the thick of performing again.
Beethoven Sonatas for Piano and Violin
A violinist asked me some months ago if I would like to embark on Beethoven’s sonatas for violin and piano. I immediately agreed, and it’s been a wonderful journey of discovery.
TEMPEST SONATA - A new look at an old friend
I just finished recording a recital at the DeYor Performing Arts Center in Ohio as part of PIANO WEEK, a festival based in London. The program included the Tempest Sonata, the piece I wrote about last time in a bit more detail.
MIDSUMMER MUSINGS - Beethoven’s Tempest Sonata
When it was newly written, the Tempest Sonata was edgy and probably difficult to understand much like some of our new works are for us today. Imagine how you would feel if you heard the Tempest Sonata for the first time back in Beethoven’s time!
LISTENING TO MUSIC WITHOUT GETTING LOST - live from Cleveland's famous Bop Stop
The Bop Stop is usually used for non-classical performances, and it definitely has a club feel to it. I got invited to present a classical music live stream show for the Cleveland International Piano Competition taking place later this summer.
