SUMMER WRAP-UP
Fall is here, my favorite season with its cooler evenings and lovely colors.
This summer was more action packed than usual with multiple trips abroad, and with lots of playing, presenting, and teaching.
I just returned from my westward crossing on Queen Mary 2 with three solo recitals aboard the stunning oceanliner.
What a brilliant experience filled with performances of so many different works in just one week.
Just before this voyage I stopped in the town of Rugby in England. Rubgy is the original home of the game, location of the prestigious Rugby School, and the summer home of Piano Week.
Below are just some of the impressions of the excitement and cameradery that makes Piano Week so much fun.
If you would like to join us next year, the applications open just in a few weeks on October 1st. Please do not hestitate to write with any questions you might have.
Back stateside I got to work with the four finalists of the Cleveland International Piano Competition as they prepared for their final round.
What a wonderful group of highly individualistic artists!
Meet the finalists:
Top left: Wei Zi Jian from Beijing, top right: Evren Ozel from Boston, bottom left: Maxim Lando from New York City, and bottom right: Giuseppe Guarrera from Berlin.
Congratulations to Zi Jian who won Gold. Bravo!!
In the midst of all of it Trio SaeRon performed in Fort Collins, Colorado as part of the 56th International Horn Symposium. It is always exciting to play our newly commissioned works to audiences.
Here we are right after performing.
What a summer!
