Beethoven Piano and Violin Sonatas

The 24/25 season began with a mix of collaborative and solo playing, and some presentations in the middle of it all.

An all-time favorite is my collaboration with violin partner Julia Kuhn as we explore Beethoven’s sonatas for piano and violin. Notice the order of instruments - first the piano, and then the violin. I am quoting Beethoven with this order in the title. Even though the standard listing goes violin and then piano, these sonatas are so involved for the pianist that Beethoven’s order putting the piano first fits well.

Here we just played the last two sonatas twice. What an incredibly joyful experience!
