OBLIVION - A sultry tango for two
It is so much fun to play with other musician in any ensemble, but playing duets for four hands on one piano is probably my favorite. It is such a spectacle to see all these fingers move on the keyboard, and there is lots of fun music for duet.
Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to record a music video with my friend Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith. We decided to record tangos by Astor Piazzolla.
Argentine tango composer Astor Piazzolla wrote Oblivion in 1982. It was featured in the 1984 Italian film ‘Enrico IV’. The haunting mood of Oblivion positions this tango among Piazzolla’s most popular creations.
Enjoy the arrangement by James Wilding in a duet performance by Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith and Caroline Oltmanns from Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland.
