Akron New Music Festival!
Spring is finally here and so is the seventeenth annual Akron New Music Festival! The festival runs April 3-8 at the University of Akron’s Guzzetta Hall and includes a faculty recital, two student recitals, a lecture, a master class, and a dance collaboration.
I will be performing in the faculty recital on Tuesday, April 4 at 7:30 PM. The programming for this recital is near and dear to my heart as it features music by Robert Brownlow, Nicola Resanovic, and my husband, James Wilding (he’s the Artistic Director of the festival).
What’s especially unique about the festival is that you get the opportunity to meet the composers one-on-one and learn about their creative process. As a listener throughout the festival, you will be taken on a cutting edge ride of what’s percolating right now and how it will inform the future of classical music going forward.
Most of all, each of the festival’s concerts are FREE to the public!
If you live close to Akron (a 45 minute drive from Cleveland), I hope you come! Visit my website for more information.
