What a great season ahead!
The start of the concert season is always exciting! So much goes into creating and planning concerts--both from the presenter side and from the artist side. It is so nice to take a step back from the flurry of preparation and view the season at-large. This concert season includes some events I am particularly excited about and I wanted to share them with you. From my London debut to releasing my sixth solo album, to filming an episode of Living the Classical Life, this will be a season to remember!
The first highlight of the year will be the North-East Ohio Keyboard Festival in October. I am looking forward to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto for three(!) pianos K. 242 during the festival with Johan Botes and James Wilding. We will be playing this work in three different locations. I love this piece! Take a look at the full program here.
Then I will be off to New York City on October 10 to film an episode for the prestigious documentary series Living the Classical Life hosted by my dear friend Zsolt Bognár. Living the Classical Life is an ongoing series of filmed interviews and intimate, one-of-a-kind performances, revealing the heart of the classical musician's world. The show will be aired soon after the filming so stay tuned for this release!
Immediately following the filming of Living the Classical Life, I will be touring in Switzerland with six solo recitals in locations I absolutely adore. The wonderful and very knowledgeable Swiss audiences are always fun and a challenge to play for. I love the city life in Zurich, Lucerne, Basel, and the incredible backdrop of the Swiss Alps. I always wish I could stay longer. The program will feature music of Debussy, Chopin and Couperin. Of course I will also play music from my new album Ghosts! I am thrilled to be releasing my sixth album this November.
Toward the end of fall, I am playing and teaching in the Pueblo Keyboard Arts Festival in Colorado. Once again, I get to play my favorite: the Mozart concerto for three pianos.
In the beginning of 2017, my chamber festival awaits, which I created in Germany several years ago. It continues to grow and reminds me all the time that this is a straight-from-the-heart kind of festival. It is all about music-making, performing, and playing. I love this festival and made a little trailer for it. Take a look!
Later in 2017, I am thrilled to announce my London debut at Southside House. It will be my first time performing in London and something I have been looking forward to for quite some time. I will announce further details as the time gets closer.
Finally, the season comes to a close as I embark on my annual California tour.
In large part, thank YOU for being such loyal listeners who want to delve deeply into the music that I love.
