TEXAS before
In just two weeks I will return to the amazing state of Texas. It is mid winter now in the North East and Texas seems very far South from where I am sitting. So I thought, I'd post a few ideas of what I will encounter once I'll get there. It will be fun to compare notes once I am back from my tour, and I am sure lots of things will turn out quite differently from what I am thinking right now.
"Disclaimer": I have been in Texas before, so some of these ideas will be memories, but there will be definitely also some 'pre-conceived notions' of mine.
The stages - wonderful all around and yes, big, like everything in Texas. The hall are big, so are the stages.
The audiences - amazing, super fun, great enthusiastic crowds that make me want to play my best.
The accent - Texan talk really is quite a striking accent, warm and full of character. I can't wait to hear it.
The space - Texas is absolutely huge (especially for my European friends: be careful to not underestimate it when planning road trips). Anything to do with driving makes distances up here seem tiny. Looking forward to the big sky.
The sunshine - In sub freezing weather, the very thought of warm sunny weather is very appealing to me.
The hospitality - In preparing for my tour, I already noticed just how incredibly friendly people are.
The food - I love spicy food rich in flavor, color and texture. I think, I might be in for a treat!
So off I go and I'll report back on how things turned out in the great state of Texas!
